Description
The Boker Kalashnikov automatic knife is one of the most popular side open automatics on the market today considering the price point. The world was first introduced to the traditional size, then the mini, and finally, the BladeOps exclusive Kalashnikov XL. This knife, as well as the rest of the Kalashnikov auto family, is referred to an auto-conversion knife which means the knife is produced as a folder knife and then converted via third party to offer the automatic function. The Kalashnikov XL features an aluminum handle scale with 4 integrated finger grooves for a comfortable ergonomic experience and the AUS-8 blade material offers better edge retention than you would expect. This particular model features a black handle with standard black hardware, an over-sized push button for easy access, and a drop point style blade in a black finish. Finally, the deep carry pocket clip is designed for tip up carry only and was slightly shortened to provide quicker access when you need it now.

    First purchase from BladeOps and I'm very happy. The knife is a great knife for the money. Came sharp, snappy action(not as fast as the smaller versions but for the size of the blade its quick), very little play in the blade. Needed a little more torque to get rid of the play and center the blade. Aus8 is ok for the price. I would have paid the 75 or 100 for higher quality steel and a satin finish. They do offer s30v in the mini.. The xl size is perfect for larger hands. The pocket clip is ok and only slightly uncomfortable in the hand. Im glad the clip short because it tucks away in the palm toward the back and isn't in the way of your grip toward the front. Deep carry clip so you dont see the knife. The weight is balanced heavy toward the back which IMO is a flaw but only because i like to flip my knife around like a dummy and it spins off center. Good knife and for the price being automatic you cant beat it. Shipping was lightning fast. I ordered a few items and all were up to par with expectations. I'd say if your are concerned about quality that you shouldn't be.. especially since its under 50 bucks and its a badazz knife. Not sure if it will replace my lightning otf as my work knife yet..had that cheap terd for 10 years or so and it still opens without issues. Time will tell if it becomes my every day.
