Great knife at an amazing price! The Kershaw CQC series is an amazing group of knives that takes the design and "Wave" feature created by renown knife maker Ernest Emerson, and combines it with the quality and affordability that I have come to know and trust from Kershaw. The 4KXL D2 is one of several CQC knives I own, and carry on a regular basis. As an EMT/Fire fighter, my job regularly requires me to have rapid access to my tools, and the Kershaw CQC series is perfect for both on the job use, and regular daily work. Pros : Amazing quality steel at an incredibly low price. D2 steel is typically a much higher price point, and to have this quality at this price is unheard of. The blade came incredibly sharp (just as sharp as my $200 Benchmade) could shave the hair off my arm out of the box. The two-tone finish on the blade is beautiful, and only truly appreciated when seen in person. Very heavy duty pocket clip, no wigglong/loosening even with frequent hard use. Solid lock up with the frame lock, no blade wobble at all. Cons : This blade might seem a little heavy for some (for me its not noticeable, but if you are used to smaller knifes, this will feel more substantial- but thats what you get with better steel! The bottom of the knife (pocket clip side) sticks out a little due to the fact that the knife is not deep carry/the profile of the blade tip. If you are needing a very deep carry - the CQC series may not be for you, as the Wave feature best deploys/is designed for knives without a deep carry. This isn't an issue in itself, just something to be aware of depending on your needs of carry. Overall impression: Fantastic knife, very useful blade profile, incredible steel quality and of course -the awesome Wave feature for single hand rapid deployment. Great knife to use daily, or just add to the collection!
