The Makora II rings in as the largest double action production knife on the market. And it is long. The blade is almost 4.5" long, which when you think about it, is really long. The action on the Makora II is fast. Like all MicroTech knives, the blade locks up extremely tight. The handle is made of T6-6061 Aircraft aluminum. What does this mean to you? It means the handle frame is strong, durable, and can take a beating. This particular version of the Makora II has carbon fiber inserts on both sides of the handle which look great. At the base of the handle is the ever present glass breaker. The knife also comes with a belt/pocket clip. I think belt might be more appropriate for this OTF knife because of it's long length. Unless you carry it in a jacket pocket. This MicroTech OTF knife rates as a 10 out of 10 if you are looking for a long, top-notch, high quality material out the front knife. Testing: We tested the Makora II in a couple of situations. The very first test that anyone does with an OTF knife is to check and see how well the blade can overcome resistance when it is in the process of firing. Does it derail when fired into a blockage. Most people try a wall and their blade immediately derails. I have yet to find a production OTF knife that will fire through anything as solid as a wall. To test our Makora II, we placed a piece of paper at about 3" out from the tip of the handle and fired the blade. The blade entered the paper about 3/4" and then just pushed the paper farther until it reached full extension and lock up. Then we tested the Makora II in full locked position. When it is fully locked open, it has no problem pushing into walls. It even cuts right into Threat Level III body armor. The Makora II is a great OTF knife. We like it a whole bunch.
