Smith & Wesson already has an incredible name recognition in the firearm industry for their innovative concepts and rugged designs so it comes to no surprise that the Smith & Wesson line of knives, which are manufactured by BTI Tools, showcases the same vision--and all done at competitive prices. As part of an ever-growing line of tactical spring assisted knives, this knife employs Smith & Wesson's M.A.G.I.C (Multipurpose Assisted Generational Innovative Cutlery) technology which translates to speedy deployment thanks to the incorporation of an over-sized spine flipper or the use of the thumb disk square. Furthermore, the unique slide safety resembles that of a firearm where a quick slide of the thumb can toggle the knife "live" or not and the glass breaker feature increases this knife's utilitarian value exponentially. This model, the MP4L, features a dark grey aluminum handle coupled with a darker grey rubber overlay, stainless steel liners, a clip point style blade in a black finish and the pocket clip is statically designed for tip up carry only on the traditional side of the handle.

Great action in a big, sturdy knife. I really liked the original series of SWMP knives--these are even a little bit better. The locking mechanism has been changed for the better. And the trigger is a little bigger. All around, this heavy duty knife is great! Easily ranks a 4.8 out of 5 on my scale.
