Description

With a strong affinity for classic cars and hot rods, TJ Schwarz seamlessly utilizes his aptitude as a mechanical engineer to create the Caligo--one of many new models released by CRKT in 2018. This high-octane EDC features great ergonomics and the extra width in the handle scales provide plenty of support and the blue halo around the pivot screw accelerates the visual appeal. Additionally, each stainless steel blade is deployed with a spine flipper function and the fluid action can be attributed to the IKBS™ ball bearing pivot system. From the beginning, CRKT has been driven by a single purpose: to bring useful technological advancements and entirely new product concepts to today's market. This model, the 6215, features a black anodized aircraft-grade aluminum handle, a modified drop point style blade in a black oxide finish and the pocket clip is statically designed for tip up carry only on the traditional side of the handle.

I have not owned a CRKT knife and this one was on sale so I thought I would give it a try. I love it. The weight is balanced, the color (black with a blue accent around the screw) is very much my style, and there isn't anything complicated about it. It is sharp, but not noticeably more sharp than other knives at this price point. It's my new every day carry. The only negative thing about this knife for me, could be a little sharper (price point I know, but it could) and the flipper needs a little more pop without as much of my help. Some might think the flipper action is perfect though. Does it get 5 stars? No, but a solid 4 from me. If you buy it, I doubt you'll be disappointed or regret it. It really does have a nice balanced feel all around.
