Description

The Kershaw Natrix is one of many new models released by Kershaw in 2017 and was designed after the popular Zero Tolerance 0770 model. Now in the latter part of 2018, the Natrix now features the KVT ball-bearing manual opening system instead of the patented SpeedSafe™ assisted system, which quickly deploys the blade thanks in part to the ambidextrous flipper tab. Each Natrix features a stainless steel blade that offers solid performance with good edge holding and re-sharpening abilities as well as a 3-D machined and chamfered handle for a comfortable grip. This model, the 7007, features a black G-10 handle, a drop point style blade in a stonewash finish and the custom-designed reversible deep carry pocket clip is designed for tip up carry only but is eligible for a left or right hand carry option.

  • Dirty Santa gift that I will bring home with me if I get the chance.

This isn't a truck stop junk, or some kitschy-themed cheaply made auto you will have to re-spring every year. Nor is it a high dollar dresser drawer queen that sits around and collects dust. It's just a nice middle of the road EDC knife from a maker with a well-earned reputation of putting out good stuff. If this knife is like any other of the Kershaws I have, it will probably provide decades of service. As my dirty santa gift this year, I'm confident it will be stolen at least once if it gets picked early. This has a decent steel for this price range, maybe a touch on the softer side but I know from experience that this steel is easy to put a quick edge to. Speaking of which, this one had a nice keen edge out of the box, which is more than I can say for a recent Benchmade I bought. The Natrix is a good looking mid-size knife. The Kershaw version of a stonewashed blade finish isn't my preference among what they offer, but it will do for an EDC piece and should it end up with my nephew, the finish would probably hide minor sloppy sharpening technique reasonably well. Fit and finish is good, flips open with ease and locks up reliably and tight and with zero play. It's well made just like I expect from Kershaw. The price was just a few dollars over our dirty santa limit and I'm comfortable that every male in the group would be very happy get this one. If I get the final steal, however, I'm pretty sure it's coming back home with me.
