Built for heavy, tactical use, this beefy OTF has a D2 tool steel blade that keeps an edge. D2 is an air hardened tool steel that gives you good corrosion resistance and excels in wear resistance. When you are going to use a blade often and hard, D2 is an excellent choice because the edge will last so long. When sharpening time comes, because D2 is so tough, I would suggest sending your knife into Benchmade to take advantage of the LifeSharp program. Another thing I really like about the Infidel is the handle shape. With two long finger choils that flare into a semi blade guard the knife gives your thumb a natural grip point when you hold it in the traditional grip. With bevels in all the right places, there are no sharp corners to cause discomfort.
