Description
The Boker Kalashnikov automatic knife is one of the most popular side open automatics on the market today considering the price point. The world was first introduced to the traditional size, then the mini, and finally, the BladeOps exclusive Kalashnikov XL. This knife, as well as the rest of the Kalashnikov auto family, is referred to an auto-conversion knife which means the knife is produced as a folder knife and then converted via third party to offer the automatic function. The Kalashnikov XL features an aluminum handle scale with 4 integrated finger grooves for a comfortable ergonomic experience and the AUS-8 blade material offers better edge retention than you would expect. This particular model features a black handle with standard black hardware, an over-sized push button for easy access, and a recurve tanto style blade in a black finish. Finally, the deep carry pocket clip is designed for tip up carry only and was slightly shortened to provide quicker access when you need it now.

    I’ve had this knife for a year and it’s held up very well as my edc. Lockup is rock solid just like new. My only complaint is the finish has started coming off the handle. Well worth it at twice the price. If you’re on the fence check out YouTube of this xl model. It’s a beauty. Big fan of the recurve blade shape. Boker makes a heck of a blade.

    Amazing product very snappy action, sharp as hell out of the box. The recurve is sick and goes through tough cloths and ropes like butter. Very grippy handle, nice pocket clip that doesn’t shred or demolish your jeans. Overall a very good deal on a 40$ knife.

    I'm an avid knife collector, I tend to overpay by choice since I'm a brand snob. I was looking at a new hogue auto when I saw this and thought why not. I am pleased well beyond my expectations l. The blade has the heft I would expect from an auto twice as expensive. The opening is smooth and snappy, with a satisfying almost VW door like thud. A lack of safety button had me worried, but the deploy button is properly recessed without any need for adjusting grip upon draw. The blade is properly stocky and certainly provides enough presence to cut your most basic of materials. 5 out of 5. 8-10. For the money you can't beat it. This knife will be a comfortable edc change-up following my $300+ blades and the best part is, unlike my Benchmades and micro techs, I'll gladly use this blade to confidently make little work of a job that I'd be worried would damage my otherwise "gucci" knives.
