Description

The CRKT Pilar IV is the next generation of Pilar knives.

This minimalist sailor inspired knife is ideal for EDC. It features a low profile and is built to perform above its weight class. The IV has a satin finished D2 clip point blade and a black G10 upper scale paired up with a stainless steel lower and lock.

Designed by Danish knifemaker Jesper Voxnaes, this simple folder offers a complex backstory--being named after Ernest Hemingway's personal 38' sailboat that he used for renegade surveillance on German U-boats during World World II. Voxnaes, who has designed numerous knives for CRKT in addition for many of the other elite manufacturers, brings us another no-nonsense classic--offering ergonomic styling in a frame lock design in addition to providing a convenient finger choil and elongated finger groove for precise cutting tasks as well as a thumb slot for manual blade deployment.

From the beginning, CRKT has been driven by a single purpose: to bring useful technological advancements and entirely new product concepts to today's market.

The Pilar IV is perfect for your next adventure.

As a collector, this is the first CRKT knife that I have purchased as they are not up to the quality or my sense of design of most of the knives I buy such as SPY, BM, Pro tech, Piranha, Hogue, Kershaw etc... but I like this one because of its blade shape, esthetics, D2 steel and reasonable price... I am not disappointed. The blade is beautiful and sharp, the handle material is good and has good ergos. The only thing that could be better is the knife is difficult to close one handed and the open hole is somewhat sharp on the edge. By and large this is a good knife for the street price point. As always BladeOps has quick delivery, good products, and good customer service so I continue to source knives through them. Alex in particular has been helpful to me. The problem with knives is like potato chips –– you can never have just one or even a few, too many is never enough. LOL
