The Silver Trident, by Gerber, is more than just a famous symbol of Americas top Special Ops personnel. Designed by William Harsey, Jr, and Chief Watson (a founding member of Navy Seal Team 2) the handle is a co mold of two variations of a material called Hytrel. Inside, the hard version of Hytrel. outside, the soft, textured version for greater grip control. You can use the stainless steel butt cap as a hammer if you need to. This is one of the most technically advanced handles ever engineered on a combat knife. It is resistant to heat, to UV light and to chemicals. The blade on the Silver Trident is a double edged clip point made of 154C stainless steel. The blade is heat treated and has a hardness rating of 59-61. This gives you an excellent edge, greater strength and more flexibility. Plus the blade has a non-reflective black finish that limits glare and corrosion.
