The Kershaw Knockout looks great and features a "knocked out" piece of the handle. In the knocked out spot Kershaw has inset a stainless-steel plate to create a frame lock that they refer to as a Sub-Frame Lock® which gives the user the lightweight benefits of anodized aluminum handles and the strength of a steel frame lock with integral lockbar stabilization. The Knockout also features SpeedSafe® assisted opening and is equipped with a deep-carry clip and is drilled for quad-carry: tip-up, tip-down, left- or right-handed. Made in the USA.

Great EDC knife. Has a nice big belly on the blade which I really find useful.

BladeOps communication: mission accomplished- Super. This knife exceeded my expectations. The fit, form and wide blade is super. Knife blade is acceptable resulting with a medium duty knife. If the steel was up-graded I would buy another. (Don't use D2) Knife positions very well in pocket due to shallow thickness. Really liking this knife.!!! I"m not a collector- I use knives, sharpen them until the blade looks like a toothpick, or lose it, or break it.

BladeOps communication: mission accomplished. Knife exceeds all my expectations. For a low end medium duty EDC knife it excels. Especially at a BladeOps sale price of $50. Blade geometry excels at slicing. It is not a extreme duty knife. It is a medium duty knife with budget blade steel. If Kershaw is "listening", upgrade blade steel to CPM-S35VN which has a higher carbon content. I would gladly pay the $20 to $40 higher price. Kershaw makes this model with M390 steel-however M390 is very difficult to sharpen. I did not pursue this M390 model due to the difficulty of resharpening. When I am camping 50 miles in the high desert, carrying a bulky multi-component sharpening system is not viable. If I have to resharpen with more than a Norton stone and small strop, the weight is excessive.
