Schrade SCH60BT Auto Knife

The Schrade SC60BT auto conversion knife is a classic push button automatic with quick action. Sure to become your favorite every day carry knife, it has several key features which make it a fantastic knife.

BLADE

The 3 1/8” tanto blade features a plain edge and a black finish. The blade has a thumb ramp with jimping for maximum control and traction. Built from 4116 stainless steel, the blade offers good edge retention, high corrosion resistance and high strength. 4116 stainless steel was originally concocted by the German company ThyssenKrupp and sometimes is referred to as Krupp 4116. First used in medical devices and food service machines, knife makers quickly realized the attributes of 4116 stainless steel were perfect for knives. The tanto blade shape will give you a tip that is much stronger and less likely to break.

HANDLE

The black aluminum handle features three prominent finger grooves and semi open construction. The finger grooves are complemented by three deep grooves on both handle scales that have a texture pattern. Your fingers fit naturally into these grooves and the texture adds to a very secure grip. The spine of the handle has jimping from the thumb ramp on the blade almost to the butt of the handle. All in all, the grip is solid and comfortable—two extremely important things to have in a knife. The knife has a glass breaker and a removable deep carry pocket clip.

BUTTON

The button sits on the upper edge of the handle. It sits in a small depression on the handle so it is very unlikely to accidently fire the knife. To add extra security to the knife, there is a slide safety on the back scale. Action is extremely fast. This is an auto conversion meaning a spring has been added to the knife to convert it from a manual folder into an automatic knife.

OVERALL IMPRESSION

This is a great quality automatic knife. Action is fast. Lock up is extremely solid. There is no play in the blade. The safety is top notch. I really like the deep carry pocket clip.
