I’m really picky when it comes to knives and even though this is only my “back-up” knife, the Smith and Wesson HRT 12B boot knife was a great find. Ill be honest, I probably went through dozens of knives just to find my EDC—I looked at quality of materials, lockup, blade play, how it felt in the hand and in the pocket and also factored in value. I wasn’t even in the market for a boot knife but this just fit the bill for me on every standard. I like the fact that they used an ABS handle so its light weight yet plenty durable. I really am impressed with the release system they integrated into the knife allowing you to quickly access it if need be but feel confident enough that it wont fall out even when being extremely active. Another thing that’s great about it is that its wide but slim so even though this is a “last ditch effort” type of knife, it certainly wont let you down.
