The all-black Spyderco Byrd Robin 2 folder knife is one of many new folders released by Spyderco this year. The Robin 2 family is actually a dollar-conscious clone of the ever-so-popular Spyderco Dragonfly folder with an array of handle options and edge configurations. This model features a flat ground stainless steel blade and that offers great cutting performance while still providing ease of maintenance and strategic placed jimping for secure grip. The Robin 2 utilizes Byrd's Back Lock mechanism--a locking system positioned on the back of the handle that uses a rocker arm that pivots in the center. This knife is part of Spyderco's Byrd family which offers all of the same functionality and convenience of Spyderco's production models but at a lower price point for the budget-conscious or those especially new to knives. This model, the BY10BKP2, features a black oxide finished stainless steel handle, a black oxide finished drop point style blade, all-black hardware, Byrd's trademark comet-shaped hole opening feature and an ambidextrous 4-way positional pocket clip which allows for a tip up or tip down carry option on either side of the handle.
