The Matriarch 2 combines the popular size of the Endura 4 folding model with an intimidating curved hawkbill blade and the convenience of the Emerson Wave opening feature. Designed by Ernest Emerson of Emerson Knives, a user has the ability to deploy the blade by catching the "hook" on a pocket as you draw the knife out. Each model comes standard with Spyderco's patented Bi-Directional Texturing which provides plenty of gripping power and a high-strength back lock mechanism--a locking system positioned on the back of the handle that uses a rocker arm that pivots in the center. This model features a black FRN (Fiberglass Reinforced Nylon) handle, stainless steel liners, a fully serrated (SpyderEdge) "S" shaped hawkbill style blade in a satin finish, Spyderco's trademark round hole opening feature and an ambidextrous 4-way positional pocket clip which allows for a tip up or tip down carry option on either side of the handle.
