Description

The Autonomy 2 debuts as a more utilitarian push-button automatic with a fresh new blade shape and an ultra-premium blade steel substitution. The original Spyderco Autonomy was built to meet the demanding mission requirements of the US Coast Guard rescue swimmers and it offered in 2 different variations. Each model features a slide safety housed near an over-sized firing button which is ideal even even while wearing gloves. Other unique yet very purposeful qualities include a corrosion resistant coil spring which is nested within the module to allow for easy replacement without having to disassemble the entire knife and the state-of-the-art LC200N blade material is actually the same material used by NASA for the ball bearings in their aerospace applications. Furthermore, this nitrogen-based martensitic steel holds a great edge and is completely rustproof. This model features a black G-10 handle, stainless steel liners, a drop point style blade in a satin finish and the reversible pocket clip is designed for tip up carry only but is eligible for a left or right hand carry option. Made in the USA.

    The Autonomy 2 is a big automatic. It has a beautiful lock up and the big deployment button is great if you are wearing gloves

    When you pick this knife up you know you have a piece of quality in your hand. It’s a big knife and it means business. The handle will never slip out of your hand and you will never miss the firing button . The blade is Spyderco perfect and it’s easy to keep a super sharp edge. You can’t wrong with this piece of craftsmanship. If I could only have 5 knives this would be in the 5.

    Hat's off to Spyderco & US coast Guard for the Autonomy & the Autonomy 2 knives. I have purchased two of each of the autonomy knife styles. I love both types and both blades. Great looking knives that should last a lifetime if properly taken care of. Solid,well built,good looks,good quality,good steel,American made by one great company teaming up with the Coast Guard for a reliable,fast action,and dependable sturdy knife. At least two of the four knives I purchased will be gift's for family members. I will keep two, one of each type,for me. Thanks Spyderco,and thanks Blade Ops for advice & recommendations(ANDY) ,and free shipping. These knives are TOP Quality knives right up there with my Benchmade's,maybe even better. Luv Ya Spyderco one of my favorite knife makers,and some of my favorite knives.

    I have recently purchased two of these Autonomy knives since I liked the first one so much. I like the sharp blade,the strong lockup,and made in the USA. The Autonomy is just one Fantastic knife.Only the large Goofy push button release is a minor issue with this knife. Being made for the US Coast Guard the button is fine if you have gloves on. No real gripes or complaints with these purchase's. Great USA Company with good warranty,so you cannot go wrong . I also purchased two Autonomy Spyderco knives since I liked the first Autonomy knife. Both Autonomy 2 & the Autonomy are Fantastic! The Knives differ for different job duties. Two different blades,two different feel's(finger grip's vs. no finger gripes),two different blades (non serrated vs serrated). Depending upon your need's buy both, like I did, if you can afford to do so. Highly recommend these Autonomy & Autonomy 2 Spyderco Auto Knives. That is why I bought two of each type for me, and gift's for family members. Enjoy!
