Designed by custom knifemaker Bob Lum, the Darn Dao was created and based upon the historical "single knife" broadsword of Chinese martial artists. Each model features a full tang design and the knife is highlighted by the full flat ground blade that features a long unsharpened swedge for increased versatility while maintaining ideal balance. This knife is part of Spyderco's Flash Batch Series which operates much like Spyderco's Sprint Run make-up but showcases and entirely new design versus a rendition of a production model. Each Flash Batch model will offer the same exclusivity but offer more collectability thanks to the increased rarity. This model, the FB41GP, features a black polished G-10 handle, a modified trailing point style blade in a satin finish and the heavy duty brown leather sheath features a thumb-break-style snap and allows for a belt carry option.
