ProTech Tactical Response 3 Auto Knife

If you haven’t had the chance to hold a ProTech Tactical Response knife, find a way to make it happen. This knife design continues to be one of the most popular ProTech knives on our shelves for one specific reason–it is spectacular.
You can find a TR3 with various handle inlays, or you can pick it up with just a basic, no nonsense anodized aluminum layout with no inlay. The handle is 4.5″ long and the most prominent feature is the finger groove that makes it, in my mind, such an excellent knife. The finger groove is a 1 1/8″ long and about 3/8″ deep in the middle. The smooth, gentle curve of the finger groove allows your forefinger to sit comfortable. It also indexes the rest of your hand so that your grip is solid and secure. Your thumb naturally sits on the spine where some wide jimping and a very shallow depression sit that allow your thumb to control the blade with confidence. There is additional jimping on both the top and bottom edge close to the butt of the handle. Across the face of the non-inlaid model, run four channels that give the knife visual texture and even more grip points. All told, one reason this knife is so great is because the handle gives your hand a solid, secure grip while allowing you full blade control.
The blade is 154CM stainless steel and is available in various finishes and even with a combo edge in some of the variations. A classic clip point style blade, it excels at slicing tasks. The blade snaps out extremely fast–just like every ProTech auto. Push the inset button and the blade is ready for action. Lock up is tight.
The knife has a tip up, removable pocket clip. You can find the ProTech Tactical Response knives here on our website. Let me know what you think of yours down below.
