Boker Strike Auto Knife, CPM-S30V Stonewash Blade [Exclusive]

So far so good, although it wasn’t all that sharp when I received it, but other than that. I’ve had a Boker Strike in AUS-8 for years, these are tanks, I work construction and don’t treat my work knives like safe queens, I have honestly done work with that knife that wasn’t meant for knives. The only reason I bought this was, I’m hoping with S30V I won’t have to sharpen it as often.

This is a very good quality knife for the price. Action is smooth and easy, lock holds blade firmly in place, blade is very sharp. Only complaint is that the handle is a little small for my hands, which are not unusually large for a man's hands, but not small.

I have generally stayed away from non-Japanese Asian-origin knives but a Boker Plus Kwaiken flipper I bought locally with the same steel impressed me with its edge retention, so at the great price BladeOps had this one at, it was a no-brainer. Fit and finish is very good. It’s not a small knife and didn’t arrive in a super sharp grind but was not dull by any means. Almost imperceptible side-to-side play at lockup is not much different than my Benchmade or Protech autos, you have to be looking for it to find it. I put about a 17.5 edge on it (I typically stay between that and closer to 20) and we’ll see how well it holds up. Steel is only half the story, tempering is the rest. If I run into issues, I will re-review, but thus far, this looks to be an outstanding value.
