After the release of the Snap Lock, the creative juices continued to flow with Oregon designer and original inventor Tom Hitchcock who, once again, pushed the envelope with creative engineering and functionality. Each frame lock designed model features the innovative Slide Lock mechanism and is operated by pressing the front lever and then rotating the blade outwards in an 180 degree fashion. The Slide Lock can be closed in the same fashion and also doubles as a safety net--the harder you grip, the harder the blade locks into place. Additionally, the blade is fully ambidextrous--rotating both to the right and to the left. From the beginning, CRKT has been driven by a single purpose: to bring useful technological advancements and entirely new product concepts to today's market. This model, the 5151, features a skeletonized stainless steel handle, a modified wharncliffe style blade in a bead blast finish and although there is no pocket clip, the carabiner at the pivot end allows you to attach it to a belt loop.
