The CST is one of many new models released by CRKT this year and is one of several knives that are part of their Forged by War® series. Started in 2013 by Ryan Johnson of RMJ Tactical, this program teamed up with veterans with varying degrees of PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder) to offer a unique opportunity to help design knives and tools that they feel would have been beneficial to them as well as their battle buddies. Designed by retired combat medic veteran Kelly L. Rodriquez, this combat medic's go-to tool came about after a reoccurring theme emerged on the battle when trauma shears weren't effectively getting the job done. Besides the fact the shears carried to much bulk and weight, Rodriquez was fed up with seeing the shears gum up and fail--adding unnecessary seconds to life and death situations. In addition to the lightweight design, the handle incorporates both a measuring scale as well as an oxygen wrench further adding to this tools ability. From the beginning, CRKT has been driven by a single purpose: to bring useful technological advancements and entirely new product concepts to today's market. This model, the 9860, features a black GRN (Glass Reinforced Nylon) handle, a section for removable feather safety razor blades in a satin finish and a MOLLE compatible black woven polyester sheath that also offers a belt carry option.

Note: Replacement blades sold separately (CRKT 9860-10)

CRKT will donate 10% of the net profits of each Forged By War® product to the veteran designers charity of choice
