Description

The Cypher finally found its way from the custom factory of MCK to the production side to add to the army of double action out-the-front models that Microtech has been manufacturing for over 20 years. Like the Sigil, this automatic is a collaboration with Anthony Marfione and D.C. Munroe and now features handle aesthetics and a new blade style that resembled the Sigil MK7. Each Microtech OTF knife has extremely sophisticated internal mechanisms which improve the overall operational functionality and reliability. This limited collector's model features a black anodized aluminum handle, all-black hardware with a green glass breaker, a dagger style blade in a green finish and the pocket clip is statically designed for tip down carry only on the traditional side of the handle. Additionally, each knife is individually serial numbered on both the handle and the box as well as boasts the classic Microtech claw logo. Made in the USA.

My man wanted me to have a knife to carry for protection and bought me a Smooth model Cypher. The knife was great but it was soooo smooth that I had trouble opening it and hanging on to it. This model has grooves machined into the top, bottom and sides so I have no trouble hanging on to it or opening it. It opens as did the other, fast and with authority. It came out of the box wicked sharp and needle pointy. It's kind of a big knife for everyday carry; at least it is when you wear women's jeans/pants. It does fit into the back pocket of my Levi's fairly well and I'm glad to have it with me; although I hope I never have to use it. My only complaint; and that's for both Cyphers, is that the pocket clip is incredibly tight. I' working to get it to clip into the pocket of my jeans and soft material, forget it. I can't get them to clip onto my leggings to savory life. I wouldn't want such a great knife to slip away accidentally either but I shouldn't have to literally fight the clip.
