The Spyderco Fish Hunter fixed blade knife was purposefully designed to meet as well as excel the unique needs of the fishing industry--most specifically with spear fishermen and spear divers. The symmetrical design of the hollow-ground blade showcases an acute point which makes removing fish much simpler and the fully serrated nature of the blade great assists with the cutting of fishing line, rope or whatever else needs attending to. This particular Spyderco model is part of the Spyderco Salt series which was purposely designed to help solve the rusting problem that many users can attest to. The H-1 steel found on this knife is a non-carbon based austenitic steel which means it is not heat treated but, thanks to the small addition of nitrogen, still offers steel-like qualities. This model, the FB40SYL, features a yellow bidirectionally textured lightweight FRN (Fiberglass Reinforced Nylon) handle and a fully serrated (SpyderEdge) satin finished blade. This fixed blade also includes an injection-molded snap-fit polymer sheath with an adjustable G-Clip attachment.
