Spyderco Embassy, Black Blade
Posted by admin on Aug 4th 2009
Here is the thing with black DLC coated blades–you either love them or you hate them. Some of the guys in combat zones love them because they cut down on reflected light–others hate them because they are supposed to do that but after you scratch them a couple of times you get glints of light off the silver scratches. I like them–fair warning to anyone reading this post.
Even more, I like Spyderco Automatic Knives. They are well made, have incredible tolerances, and stand up to a serious beating. The Spyderco Embassy Tactical Blade knife is no exception. This knife has a great blade shape and the blade is made from S30V steel. It will take what you throw at it–and it keeps an edge fairly well. I really like how Spyderco has placed the safety and the trigger button very close to one another. You slide the small safety switch into the active position and then you press the button. The blade snaps open and locks up tight. This is one of the best automatic knives I have ever seen.
